Foster's Beltz named Grand Champion at HLSR Art Show

Foster High School freshman Christy Beltz is the Grand Champion of the 2010 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Show, taking the prize with her oil painting “A Piece of Heaven.”

Foster senior Christy Utech is the 2010 Class Champion for Colored Drawing, with her work “Shades of Mist.”

These two pieces of art will be featured in the HLSR Student Art Auction. Other Foster High students making the Art Show Auction, which is limited to only 52 pieces, are:

• Breanne Carr, a senior, with her colored drawing “Just a Couple of Studs;”
• Morgan Mee, a junior, with her colored drawing “Cowboy Whisperer;”
• Jose Galicia, a sophomore, with is colored drawing “Barnyard Buddies;” and      
• Jennifer Eaves, a sophomore, with her colored drawing “Running Free.”

These artworks will be auctioned off at noon, March 14, in Reliant Arena.
