Adding up the points: Lamar CISD student
|
It’s not unusual for a student to spend the summer playing games on the computer. One Lamar CISD student spent enough time online this summer to finish among the region’s best at her game.
And she sharpened her math skills at the same time.
Wessendorff Middle School student Shaquala Williams finished 8th in the region in the Tabula Digita Summer Math Challenge. Competing via the Internet against students across the nation between June 14 and August 13 Shaquala accumulated 101,756 points.
She began playing the DimensionM – a collection of video games designed to improve math skills -- at Seguin Elementary during the spring semester. Tabula Digita is the parent company of DimensionM.
